Shelbie Carole Bruce (born November 12, 1992) is an American former actress known for her lead role in the 2004 film Spanglish. Born in Brownsville, Texas, Shelbie was homeschooled and trained as a child model before moving to California to pursue her film career. With a diverse heritage including Spanish, Mexican, Scottish, and Native American roots, she considers herself to be Latina. Shelbie is fluent in both English and Spanish. In addition to her role in Spanglish, she has guest-starred on Nickelodeon shows such as Ned's Declassified School Survival Guide and Romeo!, as well as on the medical drama ER. Shelbie also launched her own jewelry line in collaboration with Claire's Boutique in 2006.
