Shelley Berman
Shelley Berman (1925-2017) was an American comedian, actor, writer, teacher, and lecturer. Known for his comedic talent, he earned three gold records and won the first Grammy Award for a spoken comedy recording in 1959. Berman received an Emmy Award nomination for his portrayal of Larry David's father on Curb Your Enthusiasm in 2008. Additionally, he taught humor writing at the University of Southern California for over 20 years. Born in Chicago to Irene and Nathan Berman, he served in the Navy during World War II. Berman began his acting career in Woodstock, Illinois, before moving to New York City to further pursue his passion for acting.
