Sheree North Biography
Sheree North (1932-2005) was an American actress, dancer, and singer. Born Dawn Shirley Crang in Los Angeles, California, she began her career as an uncredited extra in Excuse My Dust (1951). North was discovered by a choreographer while performing at the Macayo Club in Santa Monica and went on to appear as a chorus girl in Here Come the Girls (1953). She adopted the stage name Sheree North and made her Broadway debut in the musical Hazel Flagg, receiving a Theatre World Award. North also appeared in films such as Living It Up (1954) and became known as one of 20th Century-Fox's potential successors to Marilyn Monroe.
