Sherry Lea Stringfield (born June 24, 1967) is an American actress known for her role as Dr. Susan Lewis on the NBC medical drama ER. She received three Emmy Award nominations for her performance on the show. Stringfield was a member of ER's original cast but left during its third season, later returning in 2001 and leaving again in 2005. She has also had regular roles on NYPD Blue and Guiding Light. Stringfield has primarily worked in television but has also appeared in various films. She developed an interest in acting during her time at Klein High School in Texas, where she starred in several musicals and plays.
