Shobu Kapoor Biography
Shobu Kapoor (born 28 May 1961) is a British actress of Indian descent. She is best known for her portrayal of Gita Kapoor, the wife of market trader Sanjay, in the BBC soap opera EastEnders from 1993 to 1998. Kapoor has also appeared in various films and TV shows, including Bend It Like Beckham (2002), The Bill (2004), Chicken Tikka Masala (2005), Casualty (2005), and Doctors (2000-2006). In 2006, she had roles in the BBC drama Banglatown Banquet and the Irish soap Fair City. Kapoor also appeared in Shameless (2007) and Doctor Who (2008). Her other film roles include Van Wilder: The Rise of Taj (2006) and Mischief Night (2006).
