Shohreh Aghdashloo is an Iranian and American actress known for her notable accomplishments in film and television. Born on May 11, 1952, she began her career on the stage and later made her film debut in Chess of the Wind (1976). Her performances in The Report (1977) and Sooteh Delan (1977) received critical acclaim, establishing her as one of Iran's leading actresses. However, these films were banned in Iran. Aghdashloo relocated to England during the Iranian Revolution and eventually became a U.S. citizen. She gained recognition for her role in House of Sand and Fog (2003), earning an Academy Award nomination for Best Supporting Actress. Her other notable film appearances include The Exorcism of Emily Rose (2005) and X-Men: The Last Stand.
