Shonda Rhimes, born on January 13, 1970, is an American television producer, screenwriter, and founder of Shondaland. She gained recognition as the showrunner of the popular medical drama Grey's Anatomy (2005-present), the political thriller Scandal (2012-2018), and the ABC thriller series How to Get Away with Murder (2014-2020). Rhimes has also served as the executive producer for the Netflix period series Bridgerton (2020-present), Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story (2023), and drama Inventing Anna (2022). With a net worth of $250 million, as of 2023, she is considered one of the wealthiest women entertainers in America. Rhimes has been named on Time 100, the annual list of the world's most influential people, in 2007, 2013, and 2021. Additionally, she published her memoir Year of Yes: How to Dance It Out, Stand in the Sun, and Be Your Own Person in 2015.
