Shondrella Dupre Avery is an American actress, model, and comedian. She is best known for her role as LaFawnduh Lucas-Dynamite in the independent comedy Napoleon Dynamite (2004). Avery has also appeared in supporting roles in films such as Domino (2005) and The Secret Life of Bees (2008). Born in Los Angeles, California, she grew up in South Central Los Angeles as the oldest of 10 children. Avery graduated from Los Angeles County High School for the Arts and earned a Bachelor of Fine Arts degree from California State University, Los Angeles. She began her career as a comic, performing with improv comedy groups like The Groundlings and The Second City. Avery has also created a one-woman show titled 'Ain't I Enough,' which aired on HBO and is based on her experiences growing up with her large family.
