Shuler Hensley Biography
Shuler Paul Hensley is an American singer and actor, born on March 6, 1967, in Atlanta, Georgia. He grew up in Marietta, Georgia, as the youngest of three children. Hensley's father, Sam P. Hensley Jr., is a former Georgia Tech football star, retired civil engineer, and former state senator, while his mother, Iris Hensley, was a ballerina and founder of the Georgia Ballet. Hensley began his journey in show business at the age of four, appearing in his mother's production of The Nutcracker. He attended The Westminster Schools and later received a baseball scholarship to the University of Georgia. However, after being inspired by a recital by Jessye Norman and cast in a college production of Sweeney Todd, Hensley decided to pursue a career in voice and studied opera at the Manhattan School of Music, graduating in 1989.
