Silvio Orlando
Silvio Orlando (born 30 June 1957) is an Italian actor known for his work in film, television, and theater. He began his acting career in Naples in 1976 and made his film debut in 1988 with a supporting role in the comedy Kamikazen: Last Night in Milan. Orlando has collaborated with renowned Italian directors such as Gabriele Salvatores, Nanni Moretti, Daniele Luchetti, and Carlo Mazzacurati. He has been nominated seven times for the David di Donatello Award for Best Actor and won in 2006 for his performance in Moretti's The Caiman. He also won the Volpi Cup for Best Actor at the Venice Film Festival in 2008 for his role in Giovanna's Father. Internationally, Orlando gained recognition for his portrayal of Cardinal Voiello in the TV series The Young Pope (2016) and its sequel The New Pope (2020), created by Paolo Sorrentino.
