Simon Callow Biography
Simon Callow is a British actor known for his work on stage and screen. Born on June 15, 1949, he has received numerous accolades throughout his career, including an Olivier Award and a Screen Actors Guild Award. Callow has been nominated for two BAFTA Awards and was made a Commander of the Order of the British Empire (CBE) by Queen Elizabeth II in 1999. He rose to prominence by originating the title role of Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart in the 1979 play 'Amadeus,' for which he received a Laurence Olivier Award nomination. Callow has also had notable roles in films such as 'A Room with a View' (1985) and 'Four Weddings and a Funeral' (1994), for which he won BAFTA Awards for Best Actor in a Supporting Role.
