Skylar Astin Lipstein, born on September 23, 1987, is an American actor and singer. He gained recognition for his portrayal of Jesse Swanson in the musical films Pitch Perfect (2012) and Pitch Perfect 2 (2015). Astin originated the role of Georg in the Broadway musical Spring Awakening and has appeared in movies like Hamlet 2 (2008), Taking Woodstock (2009), Cavemen (2013), and 21 & Over (2013). He played Greg Serrano on the final season of Crazy Ex-Girlfriend and Max in the musical dramedy Zoey's Extraordinary Playlist (2020). Currently, he stars as the titular character in the CBS drama So Help Me Todd (2022). Astin was born in New York City and grew up in New City, New York. He attended Clarkstown High School North and the Tisch School.
