Sonny Shroyer Biography
Otis Burt 'Sonny' Shroyer Jr. (born August 28, 1935) is an American actor and singer. He is best known for his role as Deputy Sheriff Enos Strate in the television series The Dukes of Hazzard. Shroyer also starred in the short-lived spin-off series Enos, which was based on his Dukes of Hazzard character. Born in Valdosta, Georgia, Shroyer attended Florida State University on a football scholarship before completing his degree at the University of Georgia. He began his career as a professional model in 1961 and made his first screen appearance in the 1972 film Payday. Shroyer's most notable role was as Deputy Enos Strate in The Dukes of Hazzard, which catapulted him to fame.
