Sonya Eddy (June 17, 1967 – December 19, 2022) was an American actress known for her role as Epiphany Johnson in the ABC soap opera General Hospital (2006—2022). She received a posthumous Daytime Emmy Award nomination for Outstanding Supporting Actress in a Drama Series in 2023. Eddy was born in Concord, California and majored in theatre and dance at the University of California, Davis, earning her B.A. in 1992. Throughout her career, she appeared in stage productions, including Zora Is My Name and Into the Woods, and had television roles in Married... with Children, The Drew Carey Show, Murphy Brown, Seinfeld, and Home Improvement. Eddy never married or had children, as she was content being single.
