Sonya Salomaa

Sonya Salomaa is a Canadian actress known for her performances in The Collector and Durham County. Born in Sudbury, Ontario in 1974, she grew up in Prince George, British Columbia. Salomaa attended the University of Northern British Columbia, pursuing a Bachelor of Science in Forestry. However, her interest in acting was sparked during a summer break in Victoria, where she started singing and playing the guitar. Salomaa made her screen debut in 2000 and gained recognition for her role as Maya Kandinski in The Collector, winning consecutive Leo Awards for Best Actress in a Supporting Role. She also appeared in Durham County and The Guard, and has made guest appearances in various TV shows.
