Sophie Thompson Biography
Sophie Thompson is a British actress born on 20 January 1962 in London. She has had a successful career in film, television, and theatre. Thompson has been nominated for six Olivier Awards and won the Best Actress in a Musical award in 1999 for the London revival of Into the Woods. Some of her notable film appearances include Four Weddings and a Funeral (1994), Persuasion (1995), and Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows – Part 1 (2010). On television, she played Stella Crawford in EastEnders (2006–2007) and Rosemary Piper in Coronation Street (2018). Thompson is the daughter of actress Phyllida Law and actor Eric Thompson.
