Sophie Ward Biography
Sophie Anna Ward is an English stage and screen actress, writer, and academic. Born on December 30, 1964, she is known for her roles in various feature films, including Barry Levinson's Young Sherlock Holmes (1985), Cary Joji Fukunaga's Jane Eyre (2011), and Jane Sanger's Swiperight (2020). Ward has also appeared on television, playing Dr Helen Trent in Heartbeat (2004-2006), Sophia Byrne in Holby City (2008-2010), Lady Ellen Hoxley in Land Girls (2009-2011), and Lady Verinder in The Moonstone (2016). In addition to her acting career, Ward has pursued higher education and obtained a PhD in English and Comparative Literature from Goldsmiths, University of London, in 2019.
