Sorrell Booke Biography
Sorrell Booke (January 4, 1930 – February 11, 1994) was an American actor known for his performances on stage, screen, and television. Born in Buffalo, New York, he began his acting career at a young age, entertaining patients in his father's waiting room and appearing on local radio stations. Booke acted in over 100 plays and 150 television shows during his career. However, he is best remembered for his portrayal of corrupt politician Jefferson Davis 'Boss' Hogg in the popular television show The Dukes of Hazzard. Booke graduated from Columbia University and earned a Master of Fine Arts from the Yale School of Drama. He also served in the United States military.
