Stanley Townsend Biography
Stanley Townsend is an Irish actor, born in August 1961 in Dublin. He attended Wesley College, Dublin, and later studied mathematics and civil engineering at Trinity College. During his time at Trinity, he became involved with the Dublin University Players, the college's Amateur Dramatic Society. Townsend went on to co-found the co-operative theatre company Rough Magic, where he appeared in various productions such as The Country Wife, Nightshade, and Sexual Perversity in Chicago. He has also performed in notable productions at The Gate and The Abbey Theatres in Dublin. In London, he has worked with renowned directors like Sam Mendes, Richard Eyre, and Rufus Norris. Townsend's achievements include winning an Irish Theatre Award for his role in Shining City and receiving a nomination for the same award.
