Stephen D. Newman

Stephen D. Newman (born January 20, 1943) is an American actor known for his work in both theater and film. In 1983, he achieved recognition for his role as Philinte in the Broadway production of Molière's The Misanthrope, where he starred alongside Brian Bedford. Newman's outstanding performance in The Misanthrope earned him a nomination for a Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Featured Actor in a Play. Additionally, he appeared in the 1982 film Sophie's Choice, showcasing his versatility as an actor.
