Steve Cardenas, born Stephen Antonio Cardenas on May 29, 1974, is an American martial artist and actor. He gained recognition for his role as Rocky DeSantos, the second Red Ranger in Mighty Morphin Power Rangers and later as the Blue Zeo Ranger in Power Rangers Zeo. Cardenas was born in Hampton, Virginia, at the Langley Air Force Base and raised in San Antonio, Texas. With Puerto Rican and Spanish ancestry, he began training in martial arts at the age of 12 and achieved a black belt in Taekwondo by 16. Cardenas has over 30 years of martial arts experience and holds a 5th degree black belt in Taekwondo and a 2nd degree black belt in Brazilian jiu-jitsu. He made the move to Los Angeles at 20 to audition for Power Rangers and secure the role of Rocky DeSantos.
