Steve Earle is an American country, rock, and folk singer-songwriter. Born on January 17, 1955, he started his career as a songwriter in Nashville and released his first EP in 1982. His breakthrough album, 'Guitar Town' in 1986, featured the hit single of the same name, reaching number 7 on the Billboard Hot Country chart. With a total of 20 studio albums, Earle has received three Grammy awards for Best Contemporary Folk Album and has been nominated for four more in the same category. His bestselling single, 'Copperhead Road' released in 1988, peaked at number 10 on the Mainstream Rock chart and had a resurgence in the 21st century. Earle's songs have been recorded by numerous artists including Johnny Cash, Willie Nelson, and Emmylou Harris.
