Steve Gunderson Biography
Steven Craig Gunderson is an American former politician and CEO. Born on May 10, 1951, he served as a Republican U.S. Representative for Wisconsin's 3rd congressional district from 1981 to 1997. Gunderson grew up near Whitehall, Wisconsin, and studied at the University of Wisconsin–Madison before training at the Brown School of Broadcasting in Minneapolis. Prior to his congressional career, he also served in the Wisconsin State Assembly from 1975 to 1979. After leaving office, Gunderson became the president and CEO of the Council on Foundations and later Career Education Colleges and Universities. In 2010, he was appointed by President Barack Obama to the President's Commission on White House Fellows.
