Steven Craig Banks (born November 27, 1954) is an American actor, musician, comedian, and writer known for his work in television, plays, books, and cartoons. He has appeared in popular shows such as CatDog, Hi Hi Puffy AmiYumi, and SpongeBob SquarePants. Banks gained recognition in 1987 with his first acting role in the fantasy-comedy Date with an Angel. However, it was his one-man theatrical show titled Home Entertainment Center that propelled him to success. The comedic play, which centers around an easily distracted procrastinator, garnered critical acclaim with 440 performances at various venues. Banks received multiple awards including the LA Weekly Theater Award and San Francisco Bay Area Critic's Awards for his performances.
