    Steven Gregory Drozd (born June 11, 1969) is an American musician known for his work as a composer, multi-instrumentalist, and songwriter. He is a member of the Flaming Lips, Electric Würms, and other musical projects. Born in Houston, Texas, Drozd grew up in Richmond and Rosenberg, Texas, where he began playing drums with his father's polka band at the age of ten. After high school, he moved to Oklahoma City and played drums with various underground bands. In 1991, Drozd joined the Flaming Lips as a drummer, and his style blends influences of 1970s drum sounds with delicacy and syncopation from his polka background.
