Steven Gilborn Biography
Steven Gilborn (July 15, 1936 - January 2, 2009) was an American actor and educator. He is best known for his portrayal of Harold Morgan on the sitcom 'Ellen'. Born in New Rochelle, New York, Gilborn attended Swarthmore College and earned a Ph.D. in dramatic literature from Stanford University. Before pursuing acting, he was a professor of humanities at the Massachusetts Institute of Technology and taught at Stanford University, Columbia University, and the University of California, Berkeley. Throughout his career, Gilborn made guest appearances in various television series, including Columbo, Perfect Strangers, Boy Meets World, The Golden Girls, Malcolm in the Middle, and JAG. He was married to landscape photographer Karen Halverson.
