Steven Wright Biography
Steven Alexander Wright is an American stand-up comedian, actor, writer, and film producer. Known for his distinctive lethargic voice and slow, deadpan delivery, Wright is celebrated for his ironic, philosophical, and sometimes nonsensical jokes. His style includes paraprosdokians, non sequiturs, anti-humor, and one-liners with contrived situations. Rolling Stone ranked him as the 15th Greatest Comedian in their 2017 list of the 50 Greatest Stand-up Comics. Wright received the Academy Award for Best Live Action Short Film for his work on The Appointments of Dennis Jennings (1988) and was nominated for two Primetime Emmy Awards as a producer of Louie (2010-2015). He also appeared in the Peabody Award-winning web series Horace and Pete.
