Stevland Hardaway Morris, known professionally as Stevie Wonder, is an American singer-songwriter, musician, and record producer. Born on May 13, 1950, Wonder is credited as a pioneer and influence in various genres including R&B, pop, soul, gospel, funk, and jazz. Blind since shortly after his birth, Wonder signed with Motown's Tamla label at the age of 11, where he gained recognition as Little Stevie Wonder. His single 'Fingertips' became a No. 1 hit on the Billboard Hot 100 in 1963, making him the youngest artist ever to top the chart. Wonder's use of synthesizers and electronic instruments in the 1970s reshaped contemporary R&B and helped drive the genre into the album era.
