Stewart Russell

Stewart Russell (6 August 1955 – 17 September 2011) was a senior lecturer and interdisciplinary researcher in Science, Technology and Innovation Studies at the University of Edinburgh. With a background in physical science and a PhD in the Technology Policy Unit of Aston University, he dedicated his career to exploring the challenges of environmental sustainability across various technological fields. Stewart believed in addressing the interplay between science, technology, social factors, and institutions to achieve sustainable change. He worked with diverse communities, including trade unions, government, and public institutions. Prior to joining the University of Edinburgh, he held a position as a lecturer in Science, Technology, and Society at the University of Wollongong in Australia. Stewart Russell passed away on 17 September 2011.
