Stone Phillips (born December 2, 1954) is an American television reporter and correspondent known for his work on NBC, ABC, and PBS. He gained fame as the former co-anchor of Dateline NBC, a news magazine TV series. Throughout his career, he also served as a substitute anchor on NBC Nightly News, Today, and Meet the Press. Before joining NBC, Phillips worked as an ABC News correspondent for programs such as 20/20 and World News Tonight. Born in Texas City, Texas, Phillips grew up in Ballwin, Missouri, where he attended Parkway West High School. He is the son of Victor and Grace Phillips, with his father being a World War II veteran.
