Stromae, born Paul van Haver on March 12, 1985, is a Belgian singer, rapper, songwriter, and producer. Known for his unique blend of hip hop and electronic music, he gained widespread recognition in 2009 with his hit song 'Alors on danse' from his album 'Cheese'. This single reached number one in multiple European countries. In 2013, his second album 'Racine carrée' became a commercial success, selling two million copies in France. Some of his most popular songs from this album include 'Papaoutai' and 'Formidable'. Stromae, who also has Somali heritage from his father's side, was born and raised in Brussels, Belgium. He is also known for his 'leçons' series, where he shares his creative process behind his songs.
