Sugith Varughese

Sugith Varughese is an Indian-born Canadian writer, director, and actor. He was born on April 25, 1957, in Cochin, Kerala, India, and immigrated to Saskatoon, Saskatchewan as a child. Sugith Varughese comes from a Syriac Saint Thomas Christian family, with 'Varughese' being the Syriac-Malayalam term for 'George.' He grew up in anglophone western Canada and speaks English with a Canadian accent. Sugith Varughese began his university studies at the University of Saskatchewan, majoring in pre-medicine and drama. He later earned an undergraduate degree in drama from the University of Minnesota in Minneapolis and a Master of Fine Arts from York University in Toronto.
