Susan Foley
Susan Kathleen Foley (born 3 March 1949) is an Australian historian specializing in French history, with a focus on French gender history, feminism, and socialism. She began her academic career as a secondary school teacher after studying teaching at Catholic Teachers' College in North Sydney. Foley pursued further education by studying for a Bachelor of Arts by correspondence at the University of Western Australia and completing a PhD at Murdoch University. She lectured at Murdoch University for a year before joining Victoria University of Wellington in New Zealand as a lecturer in history in 1987. Foley has made significant contributions to the field of French history through her research and publications.
