Takehiro Hira Biography
Takehiro Hira, born in Setagaya, Tokyo, Japan, is a renowned Japanese theatre, film, and television actor. Son of actors Mikijirō Hira and Yoshiko Sakuma, Hira was exposed to the world of acting from a young age. After completing high school at Moses Brown School in Providence, Rhode Island, United States, he pursued higher education at Brown University. Hira made his theatrical debut in 2002 and gained recognition for his performance as the last shogun Yoshinobu Tokugawa in the NHK taiga drama, Atsuhime. He has appeared in notable films such as Hara-Kiri: Death of a Samurai, Ace Attorney, and Aku no Kyoten, often collaborating with director Takashi Miike. Hira's versatile talent and captivating performances have solidified his presence in the entertainment industry.
