    Takeshi Watabe Biography
    Takeshi Watabe (渡部 猛) was a Japanese actor and voice actor born in Kōchi Prefecture. Known for playing villains, he voiced numerous anime characters and tokusatsu villains throughout his career. Watabe gained widespread recognition for his portrayal of Kaminari in Doraemon and took over the role of Shingo Kanemoto after his death. Notable roles include Inspector Takao Arizuka in the You're Under Arrest franchise, Naoyuki Kamikurata in Aquarian Age: Sign for Evolution, Colonel John Kowen in Mobile Suit Gundam 0083: Stardust Memory, and Director Yachio Tokugawa in Strawberry Eggs. He also authored an instructional book on voice acting titled Seiyū Naritai. Watabe passed away at the age of 74 due to pneumonia while undergoing treatment for lung cancer.
