Tan France

Tan France, born Tanveer Wasim Safdar on April 20, 1983, is an English-American fashion designer, entrepreneur, and television personality. He gained widespread recognition as the fashion expert on the Netflix series Queer Eye, as well as the host of the web series Dressing Funny and co-host of Next In Fashion. France's memoir, Naturally Tan, was published in June 2019. Notably, he is one of the first openly gay South Asian men to appear on a major show and one of the first openly gay Muslim men on western television. Born in Doncaster to Muslim Pakistani immigrant parents, France faced challenges growing up, including feeling alienated due to his household's negative views on homosexuality and experiences of racism.
