Tannishtha Chatterjee is an Indian actress and director. She gained recognition in the west for her performance in the British film Brick Lane (2007), based on Monica Ali's novel. Chatterjee was nominated for Best Actress at the British Independent Film Awards. She has also appeared in notable films such as Shadows of Time, Road, Movie, Dekh Indian Circus, and Doctor Rakhmabai. For her work in Dekh Indian Circus, she received the National Film Award – Special Jury Award. Additionally, Chatterjee won the Best Actress Award at both the Rajasthan International Film Festival and the Pune International Film Festival. In 2019, she made her directorial debut with Roam Rome Mein.
