Tantoo Cardinal CM (born July 20, 1950) is a Canadian actress of Cree and Métis heritage. She has made significant contributions to the growth and development of Aboriginal performing arts in Canada. Cardinal is known for her work as a screen and stage actress, as well as being a founding member of the Saskatchewan Native Theatre Company. Raised in Anzac, Alberta, Cardinal's Cree and Métis background has influenced her acting career.
