Tara Claire Palmer-Tomkinson (23 December 1971 – 8 February 2017) was an English socialite and television personality. She appeared in several television shows, including the reality programme I'm a Celebrity...Get Me Out of Here!. Palmer-Tomkinson was born in Basingstoke, Hampshire on 23 December 1971, the daughter of Patricia and Charles Palmer-Tomkinson. She was the younger sister of author Santa Montefiore. After leaving school, she briefly worked in the City of London for Rothschilds bank. In the mid- to late 1990s, a weekly column for The Sunday Times appeared under her name, though it was ghostwritten by author Wendy Holden. Tara Palmer-Tomkinson died from a perforated ulcer on 8 February 2017.
