Taylor Hicks

Taylor Hicks is an American singer who gained fame after winning the fifth season of American Idol in 2006. Born on October 7, 1976, Hicks started his career as a professional musician and performed extensively in the Southeastern United States. He released two independent albums before being signed by Arista Records. His self-titled major label debut was released in December 2006. Known for his energetic stage performances and his influences from classic rock, blues, and R&B music, Hicks developed a dedicated fan base known as the 'Soul Patrol'. In addition to his music career, Hicks has performed on Broadway and national tours, including a role in Grease. He is also the first American Idol winner to have a long-term residency at a Las Vegas casino.
