Ted Cassidy (July 31, 1932 – January 16, 1979) was an American actor known for his roles in various offbeat and science-fiction works. He portrayed Lurch on the popular 1960s TV series The Addams Family, and also appeared in Star Trek and I Dream of Jeannie. Cassidy's deep voice and towering height made him a distinctive presence on screen. He was also the narrator for The Incredible Hulk TV series and provided the voice for The Hulk in the show's first two seasons. Born in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, Cassidy was academically gifted, excelling in both sports and academics during his youth. He graduated from Stetson University with a BA degree.
