Ted Cruz

Rafael Edward Cruz, commonly known as Ted Cruz, is an American politician, attorney, and political commentator. Born on December 22, 1970, he has been serving as the junior United States senator from Texas since 2013. Cruz is a member of the Republican Party and previously held the position of solicitor general of Texas from 2003 to 2008. After completing his education at Princeton University and Harvard Law School, Cruz began his political career as a policy advisor in the George W. Bush administration. In 2012, he made history by becoming the first Hispanic-American to be elected as a U.S. senator from Texas. Throughout his tenure in the Senate, Cruz has consistently taken conservative positions on economic and social policy.
