Ted Rooney

Ted Rooney is an American actor and educator, best known for his roles as Morey Dell on Gilmore Girls, Dr. Tabash on ER, and John McGarrigle on Boardwalk Empire. Born and raised in Portland, Oregon, Rooney is the seventh of nine children. He attended Grant High School, where his father was a teacher and basketball coach. Rooney earned his undergraduate degree in theater from Lewis & Clark College and his MFA in acting from Temple University. Additionally, he played semi-pro basketball in Germany before moving to New York City to pursue a theater career. Rooney later relocated to Los Angeles for ten years, working in theater, commercials, and television. He currently teaches acting for television in Portland, Oregon.
