Tennessee Ernie Ford, born Ernest Jennings Ford, was an American singer and television host. He achieved success in various musical genres including country and western, pop, and gospel. Known for his deep bass-baritone voice and humorous personality, Ford is remembered for his popular hits 'The Shotgun Boogie' and 'Sixteen Tons'. Born in Bristol, Tennessee, he developed a passion for country and western music at a young age. Ford began his radio career as an announcer in 1937 and later studied classical music at the Cincinnati Conservatory of Music. He returned to radio in 1939 and continued his career until 1941. Ford went on to achieve great success in both music and television throughout his career.
