Terence Henry Stamp (born July 22, 1938) is an English actor known for his sophisticated villain roles. He received accolades including a Golden Globe Award, a Cannes Film Festival Award, and a Silver Bear, and was nominated for an Academy Award and two BAFTA Awards. Stamp trained at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Art in London and started his acting career in 1962. He gained recognition for his brooding silence and earned an Academy Award nomination and a BAFTA nomination for his film debut in Billy Budd. Stamp was associated with the Swinging London scene of the 1960s and had high-profile relationships with actress Julie Christie and supermodel Jean Shrimpton.
