Terry Ellis (born September 5, 1963) is an American singer known for being a founding member of the R&B/pop vocal group En Vogue. Ellis joined the group after being discovered during a lecture/concert with singer Kashif in 1988. Initially formed as a trio, En Vogue expanded to a quartet with the addition of Ellis and went on to achieve success. Ellis showcased her lead vocals on the group's first single 'Hold On', which reached number 2 on Billboard's Hot 100 chart and became platinum-certified. En Vogue released their debut album 'Born to Sing' in the same year. Ellis has continued to contribute to En Vogue's success as a talented singer.
