Thomas Keller

Thomas Keller is an American chef, restaurateur, and cookbook author. Born on October 14, 1955, Keller is best known for his landmark Napa Valley restaurant, The French Laundry in Yountville, California. He has received numerous awards from the James Beard Foundation, including Best California Chef in 1996 and Best Chef in America in 1997. Keller's restaurants have also been recognized by the Michelin Guide. In 2005, his restaurant Per Se in New York City received a three-star rating, and in 2006, The French Laundry received three stars. Keller is the only American chef to have achieved simultaneous three-star Michelin ratings for two different restaurants. In total, his restaurants currently hold seven Michelin stars.
