Tien Tran

Hanh Tien Tran, known professionally as Tien Tran, is an American comedian, actress, and writer. She was born in Chester, Pennsylvania and raised in Erie and Millcreek Township. Tran's parents are Vietnamese refugees who immigrated to the United States in 1979. She graduated from Boston College with a degree in biology and was a member of a sketch comedy group during her time there. Tran gained recognition as a cast member at The Second City in Chicago and has appeared in various TV series, including Easy, Hot Date, Sherman's Showcase, Space Force, and Work in Progress. She also co-wrote and appeared in an episode of Work in Progress. In 2021, Tran had a role in the horror film Candyman and was cast as Ellen in the comedy series How I Met Your Father (2022).
