Tim Daly, born James Timothy Daly on March 1, 1956, is an American actor. He gained recognition for his portrayal of Joe Hackett on the NBC sitcom Wings and his recurring role as J.T. Dolan on The Sopranos, which earned him an Emmy Award nomination. Daly also starred as Pete Wilder on the ABC medical drama Private Practice from 2007 to 2012. Additionally, he is known for his voice work as Clark Kent/Superman in Superman: The Animated Series. From 2014 to 2019, he portrayed Henry McCord on the CBS drama Madam Secretary. Tim Daly was born in Manhattan, New York, to actor James Daly and actress Mary Hope Daly. He is of Irish descent and is the younger brother of actress Tyne Daly. Daly attended The Putney School.
