Tim Kang, born Yila Timothy Kang on March 16, 1973, is an American actor known for his roles in both television and film. He gained recognition for his portrayal of Kimball Cho in the popular television series The Mentalist, and later for his role as Gordon Katsumoto in the CBS/NBC reboot series Magnum P.I. Kang was born in San Francisco, California, and is the eldest of three brothers. He earned a Bachelor of Arts in political science from the University of California, Berkeley, and a Master of Fine Arts from Harvard's Institute for Advanced Theater Training. Kang began his acting career at the age of 26, and his dedication led him to switch to acting full-time. He continues to be a prominent figure in the entertainment industry.
